The Penis Party & Soybeans Supreme

Sat, 06/26/2010 - 11:14 |  aphillips

I knew it would happen eventually, with boy twins. We had a "penis party". Zachary realized that the thing between his legs is called (drumroll, please!) a penis! Oh, and Christopher has a penis, too! Way cool stuff here. Wow, we had two very stoked 4 year olds. Does Mommy have a penis? ("Whe’ penis Mom?") No, she does not. Does Daddy? Yes! Super-cool! Does Baby? No, Chelsea does not have a penis.

Zachary was dancing to music in a pretty dress and Mommy was dancing with him. Mommy decided to see if she remembered how to do a pirouette. I do! Then Zachary was trying to do pirouettes as well. Daddy said, "Well, ballet dancers are ripped." Yes, good way to look at it, dancers are very strong!

Christopher sometimes doesn’t want to dump his pee out of the froggy potty. So mommy took his cookie away and told him he could have it back after he dumped out his pee. Well, Mommy has very stubborn children, so he refused. A few minutes later he asked for his cookie; Mommy reminded him about the pee in the potty. Christopher still refused, and sneaked a cookie while Mommy was busy. Mommy saw that, and took the remainder of the cookie away from Christopher. Zachary had seen all of this, and took compassion on Christopher. He went and dumped the froggy potty, then asked Mommy for Maitay’s cookie. Mommy gave the cookie to Zachary, who handed it to Christopher, "’Ere cookie Maitay". You are one lucky boy to have a brother like that, Maitay!

I steamed soy beans in the pod with dinner. I expected only Paul & I would eat them, but had them out for the kids to try. Christopher decided that he likes eating soy beans from the pod a whole lot! He piled his plate high with them – and had Mommy, sitting next to him, open every single pod! But, seriously, he must have eaten nearly half of all of them. After everyone else finished dinner, he sat there, dished himself up the rest of the soybean pods, asked Mommy to shell them, and ate every single one. Mommy was very impressed.

Putting Chelsea to Bed

We go to the bedroom, and Chelsea agrees that she wants to go to bed and that she wants a diaper. She removes her underwear and realizes – "’Rina!!" She needs to pee. So we head to the bathroom. On the potty she yells, "Teeth!", so Mommy prepares her toothbrush and hands it over. We finish at the potty and head back to the bedroom. Chelsea gets a diaper put on. She sees the dolly. "Wecka po’y." Translation: The doll needs to use the potty. Mommy sighs. But it is also, oh, so adorable! "Where did that dolly potty go?, oh, there it is. Mommy removes the dolly’s clothes and sets the doll on the potty. Chelsea is pleased. "Mommy, teeth done." Chelea hands over the toothbrush. "Wecka caca." Ah, the dolly went poo. Ok. Mommy hands Chelsea a wet wipe, (ok, it was from a package that had dried out in the car), "Para limpiar the colita de la muneca." (To clean the dolly’s butt.) Chelsea wadded up the "wet" wipe, turned over the dolly, and wiped its butt. Mommy goes over to the toy dresser and finds a dolly diaper, "Chelsea, panal para la muneca?" (diaper for the dolly?) "No!" says Chelsea. Mommy sighs again. "Wecka eat!" says Chelsea. "Whe’ table?" Oh, yeah, the "dolly table" (really a pink plastic lapdesk) is in the family room. Mommy brings it back. Chelsea was delighted. Mommy improvised the dolly infant seat up to the "dolly table", grabbed the dolly plate, the bottle of milk, and some plastic cheese and a plastic carrot and place them on the plate in front of the dolly. Chelea held up the pink dolly diaper and yellow bib, "Wecka diaper." Mommy put the diaper and the bib on the dolly. Then placed the dolly in the infant seat in front of the table This was getting no where fast, and I could hear the boys playing outside; they had sneaked out.

Five minutes or so later, Mommy returned. The dolly was still seated in the infant chair up to the table. "Mommy, more diaper!" Chelsea was missing her diaper and the dolly potty was half full of urine. The diaper placed on Chelsea earlier was on the changing table, dry. Mommy sighed. "Ok, let’s go dump it in the big potty." Of we head to the bathroom, but Chelsea was carrying the dolly potty with one hand and spilled half the urine all over the floor and her feet. "Mommy, feet!" Mommy grabbed a blanket from the dirty laundry pile. That will work as well as anything else! The floor and Chelsea’s feet were dried up, and we continued to the big potty to dump the pee. Once back at her bedroom Mommy put the diaper back on Chelsea. "Feed the muneca, Chelsea, I’ll be back," and Mommy heads off to finish getting the boys to bed.

Several minutes later, mommy returns to Chelsea’s room. Fortunately, the diaper is still on this time. "Ok Chelsea, let’s put the dolly in the bed." "Wecka ropa" says Chelsea. (Dolly clothes.) Mommy puts the dolly’s onesie back on. "Wecka shoes!" says Chelsea. Mommy is glad that she opted earlier in the day to put the dolly booties back away in the correct location, rather than in a random location. I find the booties and put them back on. Mommy goes to put the dolly in the dolly cradle "No!" says Chelsea and picks up the infant seat. Ok, Mommy sets the dolly in the seat and places it on the floor. "No!" says Chelsea, and points to the seat belt. She wants the dolly in the seat belt. Mommy smiles and complies and puts the dolly inside the safety belt and hands it to Chelsea. Chelsea takes the dolly in the seat and holds it while she climbs into bed. "’Zana" (a morphed word for blanket..) Mommy starts putting the pink flowered fuzzy blanket on her, "No, diss one!" Chelsea points to the white embroidered quilt. Ok. Mommy starts placing that one on. But Chelsea changes her mind. "No, diss one!" shouts Chelsea, this time pointing to the pink blanket. Mommy smiles and puts on first the pink one, then the white quilt. "Goodnight, Chelsea." Kisses. "Te amo," says Mommy while leaving the room and closing the door. Phew! I will have to write about this, because it is oh so funny and adorable…and LONG!

6/15/10

Chelsea was eating broccoli, gets two pieces one small one big and says that one is herself, "Baby" and the other one is "Mommy".

Mommy & the kids sat down to eat but daddy hadn’t arrived from work for lunch yet. Chelsea was concerned about daddy eating, he needs to be here at the house for that, she says: "daddy gotta eat!"

Chelsea and Zachary think that the back of the tub is a slide. Zachary climbs up, slides down making a big splash. "Weeeeeee!" Waterpark, where are you?

6/17/2010

Chelsea went on errands with Mommy. We got back to the car, and Mommy put Chelsea in the carseat. Chelsea farted. "Mommy, bubbles!" she said. A little later, while we were driving, she yelled out again, "Bubbles inna calzoncillos!" (Chelsea speak for "Bubbles in the panties!")

6/18/2010

Daddy made quesadillas for the kids for dinner. Every time he handed Christopher a slice of quesadilla Christopher said loudly: "Thank you Daddy!"

Chelsea decided to wear the monkey, Zachary’s "Buddy" (his leash). Next thing I know, Zac is dragging Chelsea thru the house with it! Ay-yi-yi! Stop! Not like that!

Just after sundown, the stars were coming out and the moon was bright.

Zach:

"It’s the moon, mom."
"It’s so high up, mom."

Zack jumps.

"I want catch it, mom"

"I can’t catch it, mom"

"What happened to the rocket, mom?"

"I can’t up, hold, mom."

So I asked if he wanted to be an astronaut on a rocket and go to space, and he said that he did. So then we went inside and read the book I want to be an astronaut.

Christopher was such a good helper during winemaking! He went with Daddy to get all of the strawberries, and then, while Mommy & Daddy were getting the green off of the strawberries, he stood right by, and as soon as one container of strawberries was empty, he was handing up another full one, ready to go.

Zachary gave all the fish food to the dog. Need I say more? He brought me the empty container and I asked where the fish food was. He said he gave it to Marley to eat.

Chelsea was walking along with a blue container on her right foot. She did for a few minutes. I was walking along beside her when she said, "Mommy, what happen feet?" "Your foot is inside a bowl," I replied to her. "Oh," said Chelsea, and kicked the container off of her foot.

Christopher got the family room first in the morning and saw the Mickey Mouse Playhouse toy and started to play with it. Chelsea followed and decided she wanted to play with "Mi’ey Mou’". So I suggested she play with the Little People house, "la casa". That was fine, but she wanted a "Mi’ey Mou’". There were 2 Mickeys and a Minnie inside the Playhouse, so I asked Christopher if Chelsea could have one. He handed me a Mickey, which I handed to Chelsea. "Mommy, puppy!" said Chelsea, loudly. I wasn’t sure which toy she was referring to, but Christopher knew, and he handed me a tiny green four-footed animal toy. I proffered it to Chelsea, who took it with great delight, "Puppy!" Chelsea exclaimed, gleefully.
