Zac creeps - Chris deconstructs - Chelsea's midnight stroll

Sun, 10/24/2010 - 20:13 |  aphillips

Zachary has been singing all of the songs he learns in school all over the house.  Christopher's favorite song appears to be "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" -- and he knows nearly all of the words!

9/7

Zachary has figured out how to defeat the child door-handle locks, and he keeps sneaking into my room where I am working, quietly, quietly, locking the door behind him so Juana can’t come after him.  He comes and sits next to me on the bed, watching, then suddenly asking questions, or getting into the makeup in my purse, putting eye shadow on.  <?xml:namespace prefix = o />

<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Chelsea – wears her strawberry shirt, picks them off of shirt for herself and others to eat.

Zachary – for some reason today used his head to hit mommy when he was frustrated.  I didn’t really like that, so I put up my arm, and Zac head-butted my arm.  That still hurt, so I put up my fist.  Then Daddy put up his fist, and suggested Zac switch to head-butting Daddy.  There was Zac, happily hitting his head against daddy’s fist.  Until, finally, he said, “Ow!  It hurts!”

Christopher had a pet spider for a few moments today.  Don’t know where he found it, but he was carrying around a little spider, watching it walk on his sleeve and then his hands.  Then it startled him, he flung it off, and looked for it again.  Oh, well, it was gone.

8/22 after shower: Chelsea said a short, grammatically correct sentence in Spanish!  I was putting the bandage on my knee and she said, “Daddy tiene owie?”  (Daddy has owie?)  The verb, tener, (to have), was conjugated perfectly.  I am so impressed!

8/21

Z picked his nose & ate it & when Mommy asked about it he said…it’s wee good!

8/18 - So Chelsea decided she wanted water in her cup without the lid.  She had a plastic kids’ spoon and was spooning it.  She wanted to take it in her bedroom with her while getting ready for bed, without the lid, and that was ok.  Then, I tucked her into bed…and she wanted the water.  Uuhhh….  Nuh-uh.  Object lessons are great, but I really didn’t relish her trying to drink from an open cup while lying down in bed.  I know what is going to happen!  Water all over her face, her neck, her pillow, her jammies, the quilt, the bed – no.  So I grabbed the lid, screwed it on tight, and handed it to her.  Oh, how she whined, cried and carried on!  But, no…no, Chelsea, love.  Not tonight.  It is late enough.  I have too much to do already before I go to sleep.  No water disasters; not tonight.

Just before bed I read one of the I – Spy books to the kids.  In one of the pictures was a doll – and to Chelsea’s delight, she yelled, “Wecka!”  It was identical to her little Madame Alexander baby doll.  She ran to get her wecka.

8/8 – After Sunday’s Yoga class Mommy was picking up the kids from Kids Klub, and Chelsea pulled up her shirt, displaying her “boobies”!  “Chelsea boobies!” she yells.

First day of preschool, 2010 – 2011.  Zachary came home from school with a fresh half inch cut in his eyebrow.  How did it happen?  Zac says: “It hurt the bus.”  (Zac speak for, “The bus hurt me.”)

Then we all went to the Science center in the afternoon.  On the way home, three children were not very pleased to leave the Science Center and go home.  So Mommy offered ice cream – finally we arrived at McDonalds and got the little kiddie cones.  Oh, such delighted little ones.

7/26/10

Christopher likes the screwdriver.  Today, he found them and proceeded to take the door jamb piece that the door handle closes into apart.  He came a brought them to Mommy, very pleased with himself.  Uhhhh….

7/25

Chelsea woke up in the middle of the night, got out of bed, and started strolling around the dark house.  Paul went for a refill on water to the kitchen, in ran into a very disoriented Chelsea.  She wasn’t used to walking the house in the dark!
